Shawnti Eaden

is an Oregon native raised in Northeast Portland. She enjoys acting, directing, traveling, and anything exciting and fun. She has recently appeared in the last four Storytellerz Readers Theater performances at IFCC, in the ensemble of The Vagina Monologues, as Ruth Younger in A Raisin in the Sun, several roles in Love Child, and the ensemble of Tea with Zora. This is her first Miracle Theatre production. Shawnti dedicates her performance to her loved ones and to God through whom all things are possible.

This is Sally's first appearance with Miracle Theatre. Other Portland roles include chorus member in Iphigenia for Classic Greek Theatre, the Courtesan (among others) in Tygres Heart's A Comedy of Errors and Lady India in Ring Around the Moon at Lakewood. She would like to take this opportunity to say "Thank You" to her brand new husband Dave.

Johanna Andrea Echavarría Grajales

Johanna Andrea Echavarría Grajales, is from Medellín, Colombia, and is a student of literature at Universidad de Antioquia. She participated in some plays with Teatro Oficina Central de los Sueños, such as, Amérika de Kafka, Cabaret Baudelaire and Tríptico Van Gogh: Also she has participated in some parades of the scenic arts that are celebrated in her hometown every year. She feels fortunate to have her first performance in Milagro with the play La Segua.

Johanna Andrea Echavarría Grajales, Nacida en Medellín, Colombia y estudiante de Literatura en la Universidad de Antioquia. Participó en varias obras con el Teatro Oficina central de los sueños como América de Kafka, Cabaret Baudelaire y Triptico Van Gogh; también ha participado en varios desfiles de la fiesta de las artes escénicas que se celebra cada año en su ciudad natal. Trish Egan

is delighted to be returning to Miracle Theatre, where she last performed in Blood Wedding. Recent roles include Ariel in Tygres Heart's The Tempest, Zofia in Tongue of a Bird for MediaRites and Queen Margaret in Stark Raving Theatre's Richard III (for which she was awarded a Drammy for Best Supporting Actress). Other local credits include Wings for Profile Theatre Project, Julius Caesar at Tygres Heart, Twelfth Night for Epicurean Productions, and Arsenic and Old Lace at Oregon Stage Company. Outside Portland, credits include A Pirate's Lullaby, You Can't Take It With You, Merry Wives of Windsor, Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, and Night of the Iguana. Also a director, her local directing credits include The Anger in Ernest and Ernestine, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, Driving Miss Daisy, Trifles, Fifth of July, and The Actor's Nightmare. She studied with Uta Hagen at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. where she was a national finalist in the Irene Ryan Acting Competition. She thanks the audience for allowing her to indulge her passion for theatre, and her soul mate, spouse and fellow actor Harold Phillips for his patience and unselfish support of both her theatrical addition and Portland arts in general.

Hans Eleveld

moved to Portland from Corvallis three years ago. He has studied acting under Devon Allen at Portland State University. Favorite roles include Aaranow in Glengarry Glen Ross, Vaslov in DasVedanya Mama, Ralph in Listeners and John Proctor in The Crucible. Si Mon' Emmett

is a San Francisco based theater educator, director, producer, filmmaker and arts activist. She currently holds the Curriculum and Educational Programs Manager position at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Her work outside of The School of Theatre spans from directing theatre to producing and assistant directing film.
Originally from Dallas, TX, Si Mon’ has established herself as a Bay Area artist embarking on projects with organizations outside of Berkeley Rep such as Playwrights Foundation, Campo Santo, and SFSU’s Black Film Connect. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a BFA in Theatre Education and a K-12 teacher certification. In 2020 she received the B. Iden Payne Award for Outstanding Digital Direction on a livestream performance of amendment: the making of an american myth, or the slow sipping of a peacock tea.
Through her work in arts organizations across the country -- from Dallas Children's Theatre (Dallas), Victory Gardens (Chicago), Teatro Vivo and Salvage Vanguard Theatre (Austin), to Berkeley Repertory Theatre (Bay Area) and Milagro Theatre (Portland) -- she has committed her energy to amplifying BIPOC, queer, and youth voices, working to dismantle all forces that attempt to silence them.

is pleased to be working with Daniel and Miracle Theatre for the first time. Most recently, she appeared in Porch at Lakewood Theatre. Favorite projects include The House of Bernarda Alba (Adela), Much Ado About Nothing (Beatrice), Hay Fever (Sorel), Angry Housewives (Jetta), Holy Ghosts (Nancy), Greek, The Day Room and Mary Tudor. Diane has also directed numerous productions for such companies as Portland Rep, NW Children¹s Theater and Stark Raving Theatre. Thanks to the most beautiful of them all, Mark and Miette.

John Epperson is an ex-pat Seattlite, where he designed sound for shows at Arouet, ArtsWest, Driftwood Players, Latino Theatre Projects, Play Factory, Playwrights Theatre, Redwood Theatre, and Theatre 9/12. His music appears on dozens of albums and compilations as well as in television, film, and video games. He is excited to be back at Milagro.

Georgina Escobar, Playwright Georgina Escobar

Ciudad Juárez native and New York-based artist Georgina H.L. Escobar’s plays include Then They Forgot About The Rest, (Brooklyn Generator 2018), Bi-(be) (Teatro Milagro Tour 2018), Penny Pinball Presents The Beacons (INTAR NewLab Workshop), Sweep (Aurora Theatre 2017), Death and the Tramp (Milagro 2016), The Unbearable Likeness of Jones… (Dixon Place, Readings: The Flea, The Movement Theatre Company), Ash Tree (Duke City Repertory 2012), and collaborations on A Ribbon About A Bomb (Exquisite Corpse Company), Quixote: On the Conquest of Self, (Writers Theatre), among others. She’s written and directed for and with Milagro, New York Children’s Theatre, the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, Clubbed Thumb Emerging Writers Group, and at Marfa Live Arts, the MacDowell Colony and the Fornés Writing Workshop. She’s proud recipient of a Kennedy Center National Theatre for Young Audiences Award, and an Outstanding Service to Women on the Border Award from the sister cities, Juarez and El Paso.

Michelle Escobar

is actually a brown belt in Karate! This is her fourth show with Milagro after Guapa, Learn to Be Latina, and American Night: The Ballad of Juan José. In addition to training with the Pacific Martial Arts group of Portland, Michelle is working towards her graduate degree in physical therapy. Thank you to all the creative souls involved in this production, especially to Daniel, Karen, and Olga for their encouragement, vision, and magic. To my magnificent seven--what a band of brave warriors you are. ¡Al Norte!

Mindy Escobar-Leanse, Puppet Designer Mindy Escobar-Leanse

Mindy Escobar-Leanse is an actor and puppeteer based in NYC. Along with extensive puppetry performance experience, she has puppet wrangled, designed and built for multiple productions. One of her favorite projects was a Beckett-style retelling of Spring Awakening. She is thrilled to be building puppets for this production as she is a great admirer of Milagro. Alyssa Essman

is marking her fourth production with Milagro, having previously stage managed Boomcracklefly, El Quijote, and Entre Villa y una mujer desnuda. This is her 12th year of stage managing, and 4th season in Portland. Around Portland she has stage managed for Profile Theater, Oregon Children’s Theatre, CoHo, Oregon Repertory Theater, Theatre Vertigo, and Portland Actor’s Ensemble. Alyssa graduated from University of North Carolina Asheville with her BA in Theater. She wants to thank her loving family and Olga for the opportunity to work with her again.

Gray Eubank

recently returned to Portland after teaching and directing theatre at Oregon State University for four years. He's been seen with the Portland Actor's Ensemble in As You Like It, Trifles with Stark Raving Theatre and in the Eddie May Murder Mysteries. Gray graduated from the Drama Studio London in 1977 and received his MFA in theatre from the University of Oregon. He arises every morning to host "Morning Edition" on Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Recent Portland performances include Carmina Burana, choreography and dance, for ORS and chorus for the Portland Opera's Turandot. She has also taught Comparative Mythology for Talented and Gifted Children and served on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Friends of C. G. Jung.

Catherine Evleshin

is a professor of dance and nationally recognized folklorist, lectures on culture and dance at Portland State University, specializing in the Cuban and Brazilian complexes. She has studied with various artists from the Conjunto Folklorico Nacional, Afro Cuba, Raíces Profundas, and Ballet Folklórico de Santiago, both in Cuba and in the U.S. She continues to perform with Axe Dide, Omo Ire, and other groups in the Portland area. She has worked independently with the Miracle Theater for two decades, as choreographer, performer, director and consultant.

Cathy Evleshin es profesora de baile y una folclorista reconocida a nivel nacional. Da clases de cultura y baile en Portland State University, con especialidad en Cuba y Brasil. Ha estudiado con varios artistas del Conjunto Folklorico Nacional, Afro Cuba, Raíces Profundas, y el Ballet Folklórico de Santiago, en Cuba y el los estados Unidos.
