The ladies of Teatro Luna are on the road! They are getting closer and closer to their weekend performances in Portland, and we can’t wait!
With two performances of LUNA UNLACED — Friday July 19th and Saturday July 20th at 8pm— the cast of Luna give audiences the power to decide the direction of the show step by step! Monologues, songs, improvisational scenes and poetry: all will delve into a whole slew of issues ranging from our sexuality, latinidad, immigrant stories, unfortunate racist encounters we’ve lived through, and the sometimes self-induced drama that makes up our lives as Latinas in the USA.
How does this work? Well, the idea is simple: Teatro Luna has picked twenty of their favorite pieces from recent productions, and through a series of random draws, Twitter battles and loteria games, the audience picks the twelve pieces they want to see! The show is different every night, and the actors are as surprised by the outcome as the audience. Anything can happen with the Ladies of Luna!
On Sunday July 21st at 7pm, GENERATION SEX will bare all without blushing, as it dives into how technology impacts sex lives and what is now titillating in the digital world. From sexting to Skype to online dating, the Ladies of Luna will guide share with you their stories of finding love and satisfaction as the millennial generation. Catch the first glimpse of Teatro Luna’s work-in-progress as they test their newest scenes, stories, and musical numbers, then stick around to tell them what you think in a special interactive post-show discussion, storytelling and story-collecting workshop. Have a wild story to share? Your ideas just might end up on stage in the next city! Contributions from all ages, races, regions, and backgrounds are encouraged!
Teatro Luna’s stop in Portland may be short, but it will be memorable! Don’t miss your chance to see one—or all—of their provocative performances at Milagro from July 19th – July 21st. Tickets for Luna Unlaced are just $15 and for Generation Sex {oh!} only $10. Buy
