TBA Festival offers Spanish-language events Sept. 6-16

PICA celebrates the 10th anniversary of the TBA (Time Based Art) Festival, presenting dozens contemporary visual and performing artists from around the world. This year’s TBA features projects from 12 countries, including a series of Spanish-language events. Witness two bold, politically-charged performances by the young Mexico City–based theater company Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol. In El Rumor del Incendio, the company explores Mexico’s radical revolutionary history, while Asalto al Agua Transparente finds them focusing on the water issues of Mexico City. In conjunction with these performances, join Professor Edwin Culp for a lecture on contemporary Latin American theater, as well as Milagro Artistic Director Olga Sanchez, who will lead a conversation with Lagartijas.
