Neighborly love: VOZ Annual Celebration

Miracle Theatre Group’s nearby neighbor and immigrant rights advocate organization VOZ Workers’ Right’s Education Projects, will be holding their annual celebration fundraiser “Work Equality and Justice” on June 15, 2012 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church. Through this year’s celebration, Voz seeks to celebrate the voices of Portland and the important work that VOZ has provided to the community for the past 12 years. Speakers include Former Portland Mayor and Voz supporter Tom Potter as well as Pablo Alvarado who is the Executive Director of the National Labor Organizing Network – NDLON as well as entertainment by local band Dina y Bamba y Su Pilon D’Azucar.
Founded in 2000, Voz is a worker-led organization that empowers immigrant and day laborers to gain control over their working conditions. For more information on this event and VOZ programing, visit its website www.portlandvoz.org or call Linda Miles at 503-233-6787. From all of us here at the Miracle Theatre Group we wish VOZ much success in this year’s fundraising event!
