On Wednesday, Jan 18, at 7 p.m., Los Porteños writers group will sponsor a William Stafford Birthday Reading to celebrate the life and work of Oregon’s beloved poet. Hosted by Cindy Williams Gutiérrez, the reading will feature Porteños members Ana Consuelo Matiella, Mary Meredith Drew, Catherine Evleshin, Joann Farías, Joaquín López, Octaviano Merecías-Cuevas and Olga Sanchez, along with Friends of William Stafford Board Member Don Colburn. In the communal tradition of this annual series, the featured readers will be followed by audience participation.  Please bring your favorite William Stafford poem to share.  This event, which will take place in the Milagro Theatre at 525 SE Stark St., is free and open to the public.
