Mark your calendars July 14-17, 2011 to join your friends and family at Portland Latino Gay Pride!
Made up of community volunteers, in 2006 Portland Latino Gay Pride partnered with El Hispanic News and the Jupiter Hotel to organize the first Portland Latino Gay Pride (PLGP) with the goal of recognizing the talents and contributions of Gay Latinos and Latinas. Since then, PLGP has grown tremendously. This organization now holds members from various organizations that serve the gay, Latino and general population around Portland (and has worked with Miracle on a number of collaborative projects). One of PLGP’s central goals is to bring the community together through a series of multi-day-events that highlight the rich culture of gay and Latino groups in Portland and the surrounding area.
Traditionally, Portland Latino Gay Pride has held its celebrations during the first week of June as the official kick-off to gay pride in Oregon. In 2011 PLGP’s celebration will be “Bigger, Better, Hotter…and Later,” as they shake things up by moving their events to July!
