Last weekend, Teatro Milagro’s artistic director Dañel Malán,worked on what is going to be the mask of Coatlicue, the serpent goddess, for the world premiere of El Niño Diego, the new family-friendly bilingual show inspired by the talented Mexican artist Diego Rivera, and written specially for touring to 8-K and elementary schools across the state.
Dañel still has some work to do — see Coatlicue sculpture below—but from previous examples we know this mask is going to be great! Are you curious about how Dañel’s project will turn out? We have great news! You will not have to wait until the show goes to your child’s school to see the final result: the world premiere of El Niño Diego is set for Sunday, September 22nd at 2 pm., as part of 2013 La Luna Nueva Festival!
This show is appropriate for ages 7 and up, bilingual, full of color, fun and educational moments. Don’t miss El Niño Diego!
