From Spain with Love… and passion!

Once again the Día de Muertos celebration has come and gone, but there is so much more happening at Milagro Theatre, starting with a world-class troupe coming to the Rose City from the cradle of flamenco! No room at the inn? Come to Milagro!

The holiday season gives us a break from our busy life, reminding us the values of family and community. In many Latin American countries festivities known as Posadas (Pastorelas or Novenas) Navideñas are a vital part of the holiday celebrations, linked to religious observances and the Nativity tale of the search for an inn. Kids and adults join and celebrate community, love and Christmas. Milagro is happy to once again open its doors for the annual celebration, Posada Milagro. Joins us Sunday December 15th between 1p.m and 5p.m for this...

Thank you to all who attended and to all the businesses and artists who supported the event with in-kind donations. It was a wonderful way to ring in the holiday season!  ¡Viva...

Milagro’s Ofrendas: remembrance and celebration

Most of the public attending the performances of Corrido Calavera also have taken the chance to admire our exhibit of ofrendas curated by Pepe Moscoso (FusionArte PDX) and our community altar in the lobby, leaving comments in our memory book. Why I love Milagro: Vicente Guzman-Orozco

Milagro is celebrating its 30th Anniversary season! The love for the company has grown with the years, and we’d like to share some of the stories of patrons, artists, staff and others who gladly say “I love Milagro!” Today we bring you the amorous declarations  of an artist and staff member whose list of credits (and past responsibilities!) reaches back two and a half decades: Recently I heard José [Gonzalez] describe my first involvement with Milagro, and it almost sounds like someone else’s story: a shy but...

Corrido Calavera: Lose the Fear and laugh with Los Muertitos

Corrido Calavera, Milagro’s rambunctious production celebrating Day of the Dead and los muertitos, had an amazing opening weekend with sold-out performances and delighted audiences. Portland Monthly Magazine was there and graciously reviewed the show. See below what their writer had to say, and click on her name to read her full review! “Rather than losing us in Halloween’s ocean of consumerism, Corrido Calavera melds spirituality and humor to remove our masks so that we consider the love and the sacrifices we make...
