Every year, we bring you a new, original celebration of Día de los muertos, or Day of the Dead. This year, it’s titled Raíz, which means “root” in Spanish, and we’re re-examining the indigenous connections to the holiday, to life and death, and to this time of year. We’ve been working with Mexican artist Jesus Kobe on a design for the art card that will be distributed later this fall. Here are some of his early drafts, sketches to share ideas.
