Even as we transform the Milagro Theatre for a new Third Floor production, the cast of FRIDA, un retablo — Tricia Castañeda-Gonzáles, Ajai Terrazas-Tripathi, Daniel Moreno and Dañel Malán — are hard at work rehearsing for the launch of their 2013 national tour right here at Milagro in January.  From incorporating traditional Mexican songs and dances — thanks to the creative engine of director Gabriela Portuguez — to spiraling, girando, arching pasos, the cast has already begun fine-tuning intricate details of the show based on the life of famed Mexican visual artist Frida Kahlo.  Even in the chilly basement rehearsal studio, the air felt warm with energetic actors and actresses, eager to improve every detail and to press to the next scene, attempting to make everything spectacular.  Such tenacity!
