Meet part of the cast of “Dance for a Dollar”

In rehearsal
now is our next —and last production for this season—“Dance for a dollar” a dance/theatre World Premiere created by Mariana
Carreño King and Daniel Jáquez opening May
2, 2013. Meet part of the assembled of fantastic actors
featuring a mix of familiar faces and performers making their Milagro debut.

Orion Bradshaw is ecstatic to be doing his first show with
Milagro, and to add some more dance credits to his résumé! What a wonderful and
challenging ride it has been. So many thanks to Daniel, Caitlin, and this great
cast! Orion is Managing Director/ Co-Founder of Portland’s Post5 Theatre, as
well as a Drama/ Shakespeare teacher for NW Children’s Theater and other
companies. Orion can next be seen as Antony in Antony & Cleopatra,
and as Cassius in Julius Caesar this summer!  

Vicente Guzmán-Orozco returns once again to the company of
his professional debut (almost 20 years and hundreds of performances later). He
was last seen in Miracle’s The Shrunken Head of Pancho Villa. Other memorable
shows from Vicente’s many years at Miracle include Heroes and Saints, Corazón
Gitano and Te llevo en la sangre. Other favorite productions include Cupid and
Psyche (Stark Raving Theatre), ¡Entusiasmo! (Do Jump!) and Take Me Out (Artists
Repertory Theatre).

Nurys
‘Nunu’ Herrera
, is from Lima, Peru, and started to study acting at the age of
12, continuing to study what she loves most, graduating with a degree in
acting. Nurys is a veteran of the Milagro stage — this will be her 25th play! Nurys was last seen in ¡Viva La Revolución!,
 Ana en el trópico, Raiz and in La Celestina. She feels very
happy to be directed by Daniel Jaquez for the third time 🙂  And also,
work with some old stage friends and new ones, as well! Besides acting, Nurys
is busy with voice-over jobs and TV commercials. She’d like to dedicate her
work to her lovely family and her unconditional friends!

Alex Leigh Ramirez graduated from Lewis and Clark
College with her BA in Theater Arts in 2010 and was an acting apprentice with
Portland Playhouse for their America season 2011-2012. She has since settled in
Portland as an actor and performance artist some of her favorite roles include:
Ensemble in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (Portland Playhouse), Annabella in Tis
Pity She’s a Whore (Compass Repertory), Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream
(Post 5 Theater), and her original one woman show Songbird, performed at the 1
Festival (Water in the Desert).
Maria de los Angeles Sanchez Soultaire was born in Puerto Rico where she studied
acting as free electives while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration.  In those years she participated in TV and movie theater
commercials, fashion shows and was featured in local magazines.  Soon
after college she moved to New York where she deepened her love for theater
experiencing the great Broadway plays.  Life took her to Rome, where she
lived 14 years before moving to Portland in 2007.  In Rome she also
studied theater and was casted as Charlotte Wallace in the play Terapia
di Gruppo
 (Beyond
Therapy
) by
Christopher Durang, and made other TV/theater appearances. Maria was part of the ensemble of
RAIZ and most recently portrayed Dona Tichi in Las Metichis during the
celebration of the International Day of Women 2013.  She’s really excited to return to
Miracle Theater and to work with Director Daniel Jaquez in this production
