Happy Fourth of July!
Here are Milagro, we are so happy to be able to bring you so many rich multicultural productions, and it is possible thanks in part to our location here in the United States. Coming up in a few weeks, we are proud to be hosting Teatro Luna, Chicago’s all-Latina theater company! Teatro Luna describes itself as a “multidisciplined performance salon of music, dance, storytelling, burlesque, poetry and everything in between.”
Teatro Luna is on the road in North America this summer, and we are excited that they have included Portland in their tour. The ladies of Teatro Luna are bringing two shows to Milagro’s main stage for you to enjoy:

In “Luna Unlaced: A New Performance,” the ensemble cast brings their individual autobiographic stories to life in poetry, song, monologue, improvisational scenes, and more, to create a hilarious and poignant mural of Latina life in the U.S. And you, the audience, get to decide what you’ll see! Come and help choose 12 performance pieces out of 20 of Teatro Luna’s favorite past productions. The show is different every night!
“Generation Sex” is a work-in-progress: brand-new material about love and sex in the digital world. Again, the audience will be welcomed to contribute feedback and ideas, which will be developed into part of future performances! Bring your wildest stories and share them with the Ladies of Luna in a post-show storytelling and storycollecting workshop!
Tickets will be available at Teatro Luna’s website, or you can purchase them at the door on the day of the performances. Call 773-819-5862 for more information!
