A native of Los Angeles, Susy Chávez recently moved to Portland from Oaxaca, Mexico, where she lived and worked for the past two years. She has a background in visual arts having studied at both Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.  During her time in Oaxaca she worked with a variety of local art-collectives with whom she continues to collaborate from time to time as media consultant. On her time off she builds blogs, produces a monthly show called ‘Caras Vemos’ for Fusion Arte on KBOO, loves to garden, cook and spoil her orange cat Kaliman. As our new Marketing Assistant she brings a variety of artistic and research skills to the Miracle.  A native Spanish speaker having lived most of her life traveling back and forth between the U.S. and Mexico, she feels right at home in Portland and excited to join the Milagro family.
