The time for the new moon is coming

Portland’s ONLY Latino arts and culture festival is back for its sixth year with live music, dance, theatre, and visual art, including two world premieres and a Portland premiere! 

Opening the festival the world premiere of  Andeam Dreams a presentation of Andean culture full of music, folklore and colorful Andean dances with choreography and costumes by Peruvian artist Luciana Proaño under the musical direction of Alex Llumiquinga with musical performances by Chayag;  the Portland premiere of Dreamscape,  hip hop theatre by award-winning Rickerby Hinds, directly from California,  where a young woman, “Myeisha Mills,”  dreams though
the impact of the twelve bullets that kill her; and the world premiere of Words that Burn, by Cindy Williams Gutiérrez, co-conceived with Frank Delgado, and directed by Gemma Whelan presented by Los Porteños, the show dramatizes the WWII experiences of William Stafford, Lawson Inada and Guy Gabaldón.
The festival is complemented by fabulous family events with the theatrical performances of the bilingual productions Sueños de Fútbol and El Niño Diego; a movie night celebration of Cantinflas, one of the most
beloved and prolific
Mexican
comedic artists from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema; staged readings and visual art exhibitions are the perfect complement to these celebrations of Latino arts and culture!

¡El único festival de arte y cultura latina en Portland regresa este año para su sexta edición presentando dos estrenos mundiales y un estreno exclusivo en Portland!
Música, baile, teatro y arte visual.
El estreno mundial de Andean Dreams, una presentación de la cultura andina llena de música, folclore y coloridas danzas con coreografía y vestuario creados por la bailarina peruana  Luciana Proaño, bajo la dirección musical de Alex Llumiquinga y con las actuaciones musicales del grupo Chayag; el estreno en Portland de Dreamscape, teatro hip-hop por el galardonado Rickerby Hinds, directamente desde California, que cuenta la historya de una joven, “Myeisha Mills,” entre sueños y los impactos de las doce balas que le matan; y el estreno mundial de Words that Burn, escrito por Cindy Williams Gutiérrez, co-concebido con Frank Delgado, y dirigido por Gemma Whelan. Presentado por el grupo de escritores Los Porteños, el espectáculo dramatiza las experiencias de la Segunda Guerra Mundial de los laureados poetas William Stafford, Lawson Inada y Guy Gabaldón.
El festival se complementa con eventos familiares fabulosos con representaciones de las producciones bilingües Sueños de Fútbol y El Niño Diego; una noche de película celebrando a Cantinflas, uno de los artistas cómicos más queridos y prolíficos de la época de oro del cine mexicano; lecturas dramatizadas y exposiciones de arte visual son el complemento perfecto paraq ¡la fiesta mas grande de arte y cultura Latinoamericano en Portland!
