Talavera Tiles

with Estela Robinson. May 3, 2016. $15
May 3, 2016

blue-bird-tile

Named after the Spanish city of Talavera de la Reina, this uniquely Mexican ceramic has gained worldwide acclaim for its high quality and beauty. A blend of indigenous and European artistry, the history of Talavera is as colorful as its various patterns. While authentic Talavera pottery only comes from the city of Puebla and the nearby communities, Estela Robinson will teach you how to get the look of Talavera tiles at home without a kiln using premade tiles and stencils. Each person will paint and take home 4 tiles with the option to make them into coasters. The class is $15 and all materials are provided.

Estela Robinson has worked with Milagro since 2010 as Production Manager and has taught many workshops here including Papel Picado and Sugar skulls. Talavera is something that she has always wanted to recreate and is excited to share what she has learned with you.

Space is limited so reserve your spot soon. Contact Estela Robinson at estela@milagro.org with questions.
